WV Golf Association Announces Registration Available for All 2010 Golf Championships

Charleston, W.Va.—The West Virginia Golf Association is excited to announce that registration for the 2010 golf season will begin Monday, Feb. 1. Golfers can visit http://www.wvga.org and sign up for as many events as they wish, by utilizing the easy to use online registration feature. Players can look forward to their favorite events returning this year, such as the Father-Child, WV Four-Ball and the Senior Series. These popular events sell out quickly, so get your entries in as soon as possible! The WVGA has also added several new courses to its Senior Series schedule, including Little Creek Golf Course in South Charleston, Highland Springs Golf Course in Wellsburg and Twin Silos Golf Course in Lavalette.

“This is going to be a huge year for golf in West Virginia,” said Ken Tackett, executive director of the WVGA. “We’ve got a jam-packed schedule for 2010 and I think our members are going to be excited about the sites we’ve chosen for our events.”

The 77th West Virginia Open will be coming to Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Hurricane for the first time since 2002, where Tygart Lake Professional, Brad Westfall won his fourth WV Open. The 91st West Virginia Amateur is returning to The Greenbrier Resort, where Statts Mills’ Tim Fisher looks to capture his third straight (and fourth overall) title. The West Virginia Golf Association has been conducting amateur golf championships and supporting the development of amateur golfers in West Virginia since 1913. This year, more than 80 Championships will be conducted by the WVGA to promote, advance and sponsor the game of golf as an amateur and recreational sport.
