Restaurant Review: Olde Hanger Restaurant and Lounge

The Olde Hanger Restaurant and Lounge, located in Martinsburg, WV with signage along Route 9, stating ‘Legendary Prime Rib’, this restaurant offers an array of dishes. The menu offers a good selection ranging from seafood, chicken and steaks as appetizers and entrees. Nightly dinner specials are offered which allows the chef to add some pizazz to some of your basic dishes. Desserts are also available. I usually can never make it to this course.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were greeted by the waitress whom promptly asked me if I was having dinner and if so, I could sit anywhere I desired. We choose to sit in the dining area. I settled in at a table that had wing back chairs. The dining area had a variety of tables and chairs including a table with stools with decorative lion claws. This is something out of the ordinary.

The waitress came to the table and handed us menus and informed us of the dinner specials. She took our drink orders and gave us some time to look the menu over. I have had their crab dip with pita points, which is one of my favorites, however I wanted to have the Chesapeake Chicken. I chose linguine and a house salad as my sides.

Almost immediately my salad was placed in front of me. The lettuce was crisp, crunchy and did not contain any brown edges. A great way to start this dinner. When she returned to take my salad plate, she delivered refills for our drinks. She was right on target.

Our entrees arrived shorty after I had finished my salad. My entree was flavorful. The chicken had been marinated and grilled. It was topped with crab meat which was the consistency of a crab cake. Paired with linguine which contained cream and garlic. Wow! The two paired nicely together.

Excellent food and great service combined make this a restaurant worth trying. You may want to consider this restaurant for Valentine’s Day.
