Martinsburg-Berkeley County CVB Receives State Tourism Award

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – The Martinsburg-Berkeley County Convention and Visitors Bureau (MBCCVB) was presented with the West Virginia Community Tourism Development Award at the Governor’s Conference on Tourism at Snowshoe Resort.
This award is presented to a community or organization that has enhanced its local resources through cooperative, imaginative and innovative development efforts. The MBCCVB currently provides advertising and sponsorship opportunities, brochure distribution, group tours and visitor leads, press tours for travel writers, mini-grants to support area organizations and businesses and media relations assistance to its members.
The MBCCVB is also partnering with Main Street Martinsburg and the Chamber of Commerce to promote local businesses and the economy through the 3/50 Project. This project encourages shoppers to visit three independently owned businesses and spend $50. In doing so, money is returned to the community through taxes, payroll and other expenditures.
“It is always a pleasure to work with area organizations in promoting Martinsburg and Berkeley County, and we are thrilled to have our hard work recognized by the West Virginia Division of Tourism and the West Virginia Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus,” said Andrea Ball, the MBCCVB’s executive director.
