The Holiday Inn Martinsburg has received the IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) [LON: IHG, NYSE: IHG (ADRs)] 2009 Torchbearer Award, the company’s most prestigious award. IHG is the world’s largest hotel group by number of rooms.
The Torchbearer Awards were presented during the 2009 IHG Americas Investors & Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C., November 11-13, 2009. Tom Belfield, General Manager of the Holiday Inn Martinsburg, represented the acceptance of the award.
The Holiday Inn Martinsburg is one of only 90 properties chosen from the IHG system of more than 4,300 hotels for achieving the highest levels of excellence in all aspects of operation—from quality to customer satisfaction. “It is my pleasure to name the Holiday Inn Martinsburg as one of the finest hotels in our industry,” said Jim Abrahamson, President, the Americas, IHG. “This hotel embodies the spirit, product and service that continue to make our properties known and admired throughout the world.”
More than 2,000 franchise owners, operators and company officials attended the 2009 IHG Americas Investors & Leadership Conference.
