Cheerfulness

“A happy heart makes the face cheerful…” Prov. 15:13

You create many of the actions and reactions from those near you. Every moment they are responding to something they sense in you. The fragrance your soul is producing either sooths their spirit or it stirs up the muck at the bottom of their bucket.  Of course this does not mean if someone is cruelly abusing you or sadistically hurting you in some way that you brought that action upon yourself. But in much of life your attitude fuels the actions and reactions you are receiving.

Choose cheerfulness. Release joy. The seed you sow into the atmosphere around you is the harvest you reap in the environment surrounding you. To change the condition of your circumstances, alter the altitude of your attitude. Leave people lifted up. Choose to walk away knowing that you contributed to another’s increase. There is enough tragedy, conflict and trouble in people’s lives. Refuse to contribute to it in any form or fashion.

Add to those God brings to you. Bring value to those who are over you in authority. Make yourself indispensible. Whether you are recognized or overlooked, give your very best to the effort you are engaged in with an attitude of excellence. You work for the Lord. It is for His honor that you invest all you are and have in where God has you. You live up to Him. Do so with a sense of joyful satisfaction no matter what your situation becomes on any given day.

Things become better around you when you get better. Rest in God. Trust the Lord with everything. Give up what is keeping you down to your Heavenly Father. Unfasten anything negative which attempts to grip your mind. Post sentries on your lips so that your words leave others blessed rather than broken. Your attitude is the single most important change agent in transforming others actions toward you.

Today, more important than your initial appearance is how someone feels after being in your presence.
