Lecture “Geo-History Project of Jefferson County”

SHEPHERDSTOWN:  The Shepherd University School of Business and Social Sciences and the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics will sponsor the lecture “Geo-History Project of Jefferson County” by William Theriault on February 9th at 7:00 p.m. at the Robert C. Byrd Center for Legislative Studies. 

Theriault will illustrate the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technologies to historic source materials, such as old plat maps, surveyor notes and manuscript census returns, a pioneering means of digitally preserving and mapping the county’s history.  Event is open to the public.
