To Ed: While I have seen nights where the service could be better, I have to say that this place has consistently delicious food, good atmosphere, good beer and rockin' music. It's a shame you had the experience you did. I hope you do return to give it one more chance and that this time your service will be what it usually is-- fast and friendly. The owners of the place run it and are almost always there; I'm quite sure that if you sought them out and told them your story, they would bend over backwards to ensure you have a great experience this time around. And.. if you have an extra night and it's in the summertime, I would encourage you to make an overnight stop and see the sights... lot of neat little shops and a warm springs for the kids to cool off in smack in the middle of town. If it's on a Saturday in July or August, there are free concerts held in the park where the Springs are. Happy traveling...

Good food, my picky daughters LOVED their grilled cheese and grilled chicken tenders. Loved that they had a kids menu, many smaller places don't. I really enjoyed my pork BBQ sandwich and my husband loved his ribs. Food was good and reasonably priced. Wish we'd had room left for dessert, but we were full! Next visit to WV we will very likely be back!

Sandy is right...Best rest to come to berkeley springs in the last 15 years...like any rest you have to work the kinks out..you guys are on the right track..keep serving the great food...Best of all..you looked at what the community needed and your trying to answer it..your rest might not be for everyone..so exspect a bad review here and there..keep treating your customers and your staff as family..you will have a great rest..for years to come..My hats off to you all ..for a job well done....Bravo

Earthdog is the best thing to come to Berkeley Springs in the last 15 years. The owners have put an amazing amount of work in this venture and the quality of the food is excellent. The mix of customers show that Earthdog appeals to people of all kinds and provides an environment that fosters both hard work and good neighbor skills. It is my hope that Earthdog starts a new tradition of easy communication in Berkeley Springs.

Last night was the Grand Opening of the Earth Dog Cafe and it was a hit. The food is great the staff was warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was out of this world! They had a great band playing from Maryland, Annapolis Bluegrass Coalition, they rocked the house. I had a steak and cheese sub it was the best steak and cheese I have ever had. I didn't take very long either it was very quick. I got my sandwich in about 10 minutees or so. The bar was absolutley beautiful granite counter tops with dark wood trim, they had lots of great old school rock and roll pictures on the walls. I had the time of my life. I will go back everytime I go to berkley Springs!!!! -- Melissa

We saw the cafe from the road. It looked great, so my wife, 20 year old daughter, and 11 year old son stopped in for what we hoped would be a treat for our trip from Charlottesville, VA to N.W. Pennsylvania. Boy were we disappointed. I am a firm believer in that a restaurant should deliever on what it appears to be. A cafe should have good, hot, well varietied food, served fairly fast. Well, at least the food was good, but it took 40 minutes for it to arrive, with no explanation as to the delay. Also, an order was completely missed and the first tea was not hot and the chocalate milk, wasn't. It was light tan, not brown (get store bought chocalate milk instead of make-your-own). The BBQ was very good as was the chipped beef on biscuit, which are also good. But the enjoyment of the food was stolen from us by the poor service. A simple explanation would have helped, but none came. You folks stole a half hour of our travel time from us. Next time through Berkeley Springs we wouldn't stop here. We go thru B.S. 8 times a year, so that's a lot of potential revenue lost. McDonald's is a bottom feeder and so is Puzzia Hut, but at least they don't waste my time, which like food has a value. I don't understand because the five wait staff seemed to be hustling as did the cooks, but...? When the food and service has been great at a Restaurant be it A&W or a Five Star I go and compliment the management. Here I left a note to the management. Here is a longer version of it. I hope the staff's atitude and speed become better, because the food is mostly good (you need a different sauce on the cole slaw-uninterseting at best) but the BBQ is good. We'll try you guys again in a year. Maybe by then you'll have figured it out. Lovingly submitted, Ed-look to Joshua 22:34
