Shepherdstown, WV -- Want to learn Spanish? Or brush up on rusty skills? A 16- week session will be offered Tuesday evenings, from 5:30-6:30 for Beginning I, a basic beginning class; and from 6:30-7:30 pm for Beginning II, for those with some previous Spanish. The classes will take place in Shepherdstown (directions to location will be provided upon registration). The classes, taught by Sara Maxwell Blint, a native of Bogota, Colombia, are practical approaches to learning the Spanish language, focusing on the fundamentals of conversation. The cost is $120. Sara Maxwell Blint has studied at Brenau Academy, the University of Alabama, Universidad de Los Andes, and Javeriana University. While in Colombia, Sara taught at the Colombo Americano language school and at El Sagrado Corazon de Jesus (Sacred Heart). Until she retired, Sara worked for the Department of Health and Human Services in Montgomery County, Maryland. She has lived in Shepherdstown for the past five years and has taught Spanish to children at the Shepherdstown Elementary School, the pre-school program at Shepherd University, and the Shepherdstown Day Care Center. Sara also teaches intermediate-level Spanish classes to adults at the Shepherd University library, classes that were initially hosted by the Shepherdstown Library.
