MARTINSBURG, WV — Each summer, The Arts Centre presents six weeks of summer "art camp" for children who love art. This program combines visual art with music and dance for a multi-media experience. Spaces are available in the following weeks:

“African and Asian Art” – July 7-11, ages 11-13
This week is full of fun multi-media art projects, including tribal beads, hieroglyphic prints, bark cloth designs, paper kites, calligraphy, sumi painting and much more.

“Rhyme & Rhythm” – July 21-25, ages 8-10
Younger children will enjoy the chance to express themselves through poetry and dance, as well as drawing and painting .

“miXed MeDia” – July 28 – August 1, ages 13-15
Sculpture, illustration, animation and digital photography combine for a true multi-media experience. This class for young teens focues on using both technology and hands-on skills.

Classes are held Monday- Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Arts Centre at 300 W. King Street (the former Federal Building and Post Office).

Tuition is $160 per week. Arts Centre members receive a 10% discount on tuition. A registration form is available at theartcentre.org. Need-based scholarships are available - please request an application.
