Art professor Sonya Evanisko selected students from an advanced art seminar at Shepherd University for the one-day exhibit. Some students were also chosen from the photography/digital arts department for their unique and experimental work. Ms. Evanisko called this opportunity to represent the art department of Shepherd University “an honor”.
Students selected to exhibit at The Arts Centre (as of March 6, 2008) are:

• Stacey Volkman – paintings
As part of “First Saturdays,” The Arts Centre also plans to offer art classes on the first Saturday of each month. The classes will be low-cost (average $15), open to drop-ins, and appropriate for various ages. Classes may include beading, experimental watercolor techniques, and decorative acrylic painting. This exhibit of student artwork will be followed by a solo exhibit of sculpture by Shepherd University art professor Dow Benedict. The exhibit, titled “Dream House Revisited,” will be on view at The Arts Centre from April 11 – May 23. More information about Mr. Benedict’s exhibit will be released soon.
A CATF (Contemporary American Theater Festival) “buzz party” is also planned for April 26 at The Arts Centre. The Arts Centre appreciates the opportunity to collaborate with Shepherd University in exhibits and other events.
