What’s It About
Teenage and pregnant Juno MacGuff (Ellen Page) quickly learns the reality of life’s bumps and bruises when growing up becomes suddenly much more difficult. Her initial decision of abortion becomes overtaken by her realization of the consequences for her unborn child. Finding the right family to give her baby to leads her to a classified ad of a couple looking for just that (Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman). As the seasons change, other changes and problems occur that eventually lead to feelings she’d never felt before.

Review
Before I went to see this movie, I had read absolutely nothing about it at all, had no idea what to even think and couldn’t even tell you what it was about. However, the only thing that I had heard about this film was that it had one of the actors in it from the hilariously funny Superbad. So, with that being said, my first assumption of the movie was that it was going to be spattered with filthy nasty bathroom humor, I sure was wrong. It was quite the opposite; all of its humor comes mostly from the wide range of personalities within the characters. Especially from the main character Juno (Page), whose witty and sarcastic dialogue classifies this film as a comedy. Friend and father of the unborn child, Pollie Bleaker (Michael Cera), carries with him all the stereotypical traits of the high school nerd we all once went to school with. The best part of this film amongst all the comedic value is its plot and story line, written by Diablo Cody who has gotten nothing but praise. Having this smart articulate teenage girl overcome such a burden at her age, shows an extreme amount of bravery. And that is really what this film is all about, it is truly a film of bravery and hope. So, if you’re looking for a good film that has no surprises and keeps you laughing throughout then this is a good pick. It is one of those movies that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, except those who are under 13, of course.

One More Thing
For her portrayal of Juno MacGuff, Ellen Page is easily Oscar-worthy
