YOU CAN HELP!!!
Twice a year, Goodwill partners with Bon-Ton stores in your communities for the Bon-Ton/Goodwill Sale. This event greatly benefits Goodwill by dramatically increasing the pounds of textiles donated to the retail sales division, thus increasing Goodwill’s ability to support job training and services for our clients in your community. During this event, customers are asked to donate clean, gently used clothing and household textiles. In exchange for EACH item, the customer receives a discount coupon for 20% off the purchase of new merchandise in their local Bon-Ton department store, including some items that are normally excluded.
We are recruiting volunteers to fill one of the 405 volunteer hours available to assist by helping Bon-Ton personnel collect textiles, distribute information and thank the customer for donating at a table inside the Bon-Ton store. This job requires some physical activity such as reaching or bending to place donations in receptacles. There will be a short volunteer orientation prior to the event so you can learn about all the important programs Horizon Goodwill provides for your community. Volunteers will be needed at three area Bon-Ton locations: LaVale, MD; Hagerstown, MD and Martinsburg, WV. Volunteer hours are available 10:00am – 9:00pm Monday through Saturday and 11:00am – 6:00pm Sundays beginning September 12th through September 24th, 2007. Available time slots are on a first come first serve basis so respond early to secure your request.
