Shepherdstown, WV -- The Goose Route Dance Festival seeks adventurous people, ages 12 and up, to participate in the innovative “Natural Movement Video Project” on Saturday, July 12, from 10 am -12 noon. Non-dancers and dancers alike are invited to come out for their 15 minutes of fame! DC-based artist, film-maker, and performance scholar Ted Bain will facilitate opportunities for the performance of natural movement by people of all types. Filming movers in various locations throughout Shepherdstown, Bain will edit the raw footage into a short film that will be screened the second wekend of the Festival. This is a tremendous opportunity to experience the creative process firsthand and to be a part of a unique artistic endeavor. A $5 donation is suggested. The Eighth Annual Goose Route Dance Festival, July 10-20, is a two-week contemporary dance extravaganza featuring performances by professional dance companies from across the U.S., master classes, family shows, kids’ classes, pre-performance talks, and the Dance Teacher Institute. Most Festival events take place at the War Memorial Building, 102 East German Street, Shepherdstown, which is transformed into an intimate black box theater.
