Want to live greener? Come to The Arts Centre on April 19 & 20 for classes, films, demonstrations, and more!

Two days of classes will focus on using recycled and natural materials. Papermaking, basketry, and mini rag rugs are a few of the offerings. Information from non-profit organizations, including Trinity United Methodist's Social Ministries, the Potomac Valley Audobon Society, and Berkeley County Solid Waste Authority, will be available during the event.

Saturday schedule:

• 1-3: Papermaking (Part I of II), with Jane Ping (good for ages 12+)
• 3-5: Bottle Basics, with Shelley Aikens (ages 16+)
• 1-5: Mini Rag Rugs, with Judy Jeffares (ages 16+)
• 1-5: Trash Treasure Tree with Marcia Ruth (all ages)
• Other craft projects for all ages
• The short film "The Story of Stuff" (30 minutes) will run on a loop from 1-5 p.m., with a final showing and discussion at 5 p.m. (Discussion led by Elizabeth Kennedy.)

Sunday schedule:

• 1-3: Papermaking (Part II), with Jane Ping
• 3-5: Gum Wrapper Bracelet, with Kathy McClung (all ages)
• 1-5: Make a Market Basket, with Karen Cartlidge (ages 16+)
• 1-5: Trash Treasure Tree with Marcia Ruth (all ages)
• Other craft projects for all ages
• The short film "God's Gift of a Wild and Wonderful Land" (18 minutes) will be shown on a loop from 1-5 p.m., with a final showing and discusison at 5 p.m. (Discussion led by Earl Hairston and Ellen Murphy.)
• A whole foods cooking demo will be held on Sunday at 1:30. Pam Smith of Good Natured will show demonstrate some delicious, healthy recipies. Good Natured, a green general store and cafe, is located at 209 S. Raleigh Street and offers green products, music, and yummy food, open Tuesday - Saturday.

Admission and activities are FREE, except for the following classes:

• Papermaking: $28 (two days)
• Bottle re-purposing: $14
• Mini Rag Rug: $28 + $10 material fee
• Gum Wrapper Bracelet: $14
• Basketry: $28 + $20 material fee
