Shepherdstown, WV -- Goose Route Arts Collaborative is offering a two-day workshop in Contact Improvisation, taught and facilitated by dancer and movement educator Ray Shaw. Dates of the workshop are Saturday, April 12 and Saturday, April 19, from 10:30 am to 12 noon. It will take place at the Shepherdstown Train Station, Audrey Egle Drive, Shepherdstown, WV.

This workshop is a great way to introduce or reacquaint yourself with Contact Improvisation, a movement form in which people (not necessarily trained dancers) explore weight, gravity, falling, and flying with a partner. Exhilarating and enlightening, Contact Improvisation is best experienced by doing it. Ray Shaw will introduce core elements of good and safe Contact Improvisation practice and create a fun atmosphere for all participants.

No matter what your level of experience is as a Contact Improviser, dancer, or mover, this workshop is sure to bring you to a new awareness of yourself and others.

The cost of the workshop is $25. If students also sign up for Ray’s four dance improvisation classes in May (May 10, 17, 24, and 31), the combined cost is $66.
