Classical guitarist Candice Mowbray masterfully engages audiences in emotionally provocative and entertaining music with a mélange of classic and modern guitar compositions from Europe and the Americas. With an affinity for Latin American music, her current program showcases compositions by two tango composers: Astor Piazzolla and Maximo Diego Pujol.

Mowbray earned a Master of Music degree in guitar performance from Shenandoah Conservatory and a Bachelor of Art degree in music composition from Shepherd College. She has also studied at Le Domaine Forget in Quebec, the National Guitar Workshop in Connecticut, with Ricardo Cobo in Las Vegas, and with Ron Pearl in Baltimore. She has performed in master classes with many internationally renowned artists including Angel Romero, Sharon Isbin, Roland Dyens, and Julian Gray. In 2004, she was one of only two persons selected to perform in Sharon Isbin's masterclass at the First World Guitar Congress and has had her biographical writings published in the program for this landmark event.

Mowbray is currently on the music faculty of Mount Saint Mary's University, Shepherd University, Hagerstown Community College, Frederick Community College, and the National Music Workshop where she serves as a dedicated instructor of guitar, music history, and music theory. She conducts the first ever Hagerstown Community College Guitar Orchestra and founded the Western Maryland Guitar Salon. She is author of "Guitar Notes", a method for group guitar instruction and "A Study Guide for Music Appreciation" published by Pearson Customs. She presents music seminars on a variety of subjects including guitar pedagogy and music theory. She volunteers her time by serving on guitar festival committees, organizing guitar salon meetings, and posting research about women in guitar on her blog "The Alliance of Women Guitarists". (see the links page for more information) She was recently named one of the "Top 5 People to Watch" by Hagerstown Magazine for her dedicated efforts in her field.
