Government Contracting Focus of Small Business Workshop

FAIRMONT, W.VA. – Paul L. Gunn, Sr., a dynamic instructor specializing in government contract auditing, contract accounting and government contract bid and proposal preparation, will be in Fairmont on Wednesday, April 23 to provide specialized training to entrepreneurs interested in taking their business to the next level utilizing the lucrative arena of government contracting.
The U.S. Government is the largest purchaser of goods and services in the entire world. A good many of those purchases are made through contracts awarded to small businesses. It’s an excellent way for qualified small businesses to develop and grow utilizing the expertise of Gunn, who has provided training to thousands of small businesses, CPA’s government contracting officials, and auditors.

The U.S. Small Business Administration, in partnership with the VBP Group, LLC, is sponsoring the free workshop designed to provide eligible small business owners a solid foundation of cost accounting principles for government contracting. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, April 23 at the West Virginia High Technology Consortium (former ISR Building) located at 1000 Galliher Drive in Fairmont, W.Va. from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
“Any small businesses with the remote thought of jumping into the realm of government contracting needs to attend this workshop,” said Melissa Loder, business development specialist at the SBA’s West Virginia District Office. “In fact, when the training was offered previously, one small business owner who had been in business for 10 years wished this type of workshop was offered back then. It would have saved me hundreds of hours spent trying to figure out how to properly prepare a government contract bid.”
