Women in Business Champion of the Year – Regional And State Winner – Jeanne Mozier, president of Star Theatre in Berkeley Springs. Mozier was selected for her commitment to the advancement of women’s business ownership. Additional category criteria includes: active support for legislative or regulatory action designed to assist small businesses; efforts to increase business and financial opportunities for women; provide legal, financial or managerial assistance to enhance women’s business ownership; volunteer efforts to strengthen the role of women business owners within the community; and advocate of the women-owned business community as a whole, not solely for individual personal advancement. Mozier is a charismatic, highly successful businesswoman and recognizes the challenges and opportunities available to women who have chosen to open their own businesses. Since her arrival in the Berkeley Springs community, she has given hours of herself for volunteer counseling, encouraging, and most certainly promoting local enterprises. Her work with artisans, tourism and women is legendary. Mozier has composed numerous articles featuring women-owned businesses and has been recognized with several local and national awards for her efforts in championing women entrepreneurship. Mozier was nominated by Beth Peters Curtin, executive director of the Berkeley Springs – Morgan County Chamber of Commerce.
